Leading the way in coolant recycling

Industrial Coolant Recycling Vacuums

Freddy products manufacture a range of industrial coolant recycling vacuums.  Specifically designed to reduce coolant disposal through recycling, the Freddy industrial coolant vacuums reduce waste, prevent potential health hazards and associated costs.

If you need a vacuum for a wet application, such as a swarf vacuum, or a drum top vacuum, we also offer a range of industrial wet use vacuums.

We also offer industrial dry vacuums, including ATEX rated vacuums, and HEPA vacuums.

Below is a selection of the industrial vacuums we offer, but if you need any assistance, please call us on 01386 561113, send us a tweet @Freddyproducts or send an email to hello@freddy-products.co.uk

Freddy Bespoke

We have been manufacturing industrial coolant vacuums since the 1960's , however not everyone is aware that we make bespoke vacuums too.  Whether an adaptation of one of our original Freddys, or a bespoke design,  we can work to create a solution for you.

Below are some examples of the bespoke vacuums we have produced, from the addition of fork lift channels, to a 3000ltr Freddy.  If you have an idea, we can help make it become a reality.

Freddy Vacuum Tramp Oil Skimmer

Tramp oil is probably one of the most common contaminants in metalworking fluids. The term is a catch all for all sources of non-soluble contaminants (usually oil-based) that can come in contact with the metalworking fluid as a function of the process or the equipment. The sources can be one of the following:

Hydraulic fluid

Way lubricant

Slide lubricant

Gear lubricant

Spindle lubricant

Corrosion preventive (from a previous process or carried in on the parts)

Stamping lubricant (from a previous process or carried in on the parts)

Whatever the source, tramp oil is a foreign contaminant that can create the problems such as corrosion and staining, dermatitis, smoking, lubrication issues, or foaming.

It is essential to minimise the oil, ideally to less than 2% of total volume as indicated by the HSE in their MW5 publication.

With the Freddy Vacuum Tramp Oil Skimmer, it is now possible to make any Freddy, no matter the age, into a quick and effective skimming device. No need to wait for hours while the oil coalesces, or the headache of what to do with lots of oil-contaminated paper. Just a faster more ecological way of removing oil.

Connecting to one of the pick-up attachments (you have the choice at the point of order), once the vacuum is switched on it is possible to easily regulate the flow to ensure only oil is collected rather than valuable coolant. Once collected, it is easy to empty out your Freddy into a barrel or IBC for waste.

Electric Oil and Coolant Bowser

The Freddy Electric Oil and Coolant bowser is a safe and easy way to transport clean fluids around a workshop for filling or top up of machines.

Using the same build ethos as the rest of our renowned range, the bowser is hand built using 2 and 3mm mild Steel. The option of both 304 and 316 Stainless Steel can be specified for those with fluids with PH extremes, or those likely to conflict with mild steel.

Standard capacity is 200 litres, but there is the option of 300 litres. Both tanks are baffled to eliminate unwanted shunt from the fluid sloshing in the tank.

Easy access to the tank via a removable plate at the top, allows for cleaning or flushing out, and due to the curved tank, there is no risk of contaminant being retained in any hard to reach places.

A sight gauge is located at one end of the tank for quick assessment of capacity.

Four heavy-duty non-marking 125mm castors with needle roller bearings, rated at 250kg each, and the two front ones being braked, allow easy movement of the unit even when full.

The whole unit is Powder coated in our orange for extra durability, but it is possible to specify a RAL of your choice, subject to availability.

A centrifugal pump fitted with hard-faced seals in either 110v or 230v can be specified for fast transfer of the fluids via 3m of heavy-duty hose through a trigger nozzle. Delivery speed of up to 85ltrs / min*

An optional retractable Samoa Hose reel can be specified, and a Samoa Digital Hose End meter if monitoring fluid usage is important.

*Subject to viscosity, hose delivery length, bore, and pump head.

Freddy Second Filtration Unit

The Freddy Second Filtration Unit can be used with our existing range of coolant and swarf recycling vacuums.

With the Second Filtration unit attached to a Freddy Coolant Recycling vacuum, you are able to double the filtration area.  For those customers that are already passing their coolant through twice to maximise the filtration, it is a handy way to save time too!

With filter bags available from 1 micron to 1000 micron, you are able to pass your coolant and swarf through the second filter unit, through a higher micron filter bag - to say remove the large swarf particles, before it then being passed through a smaller micron filter bag, to remove any  sludge, silt, smaller swarf and other particulates.  This is done in one cycle, so no further time or effort is required!

If you would like to see how quick and easy it is to fit and use the second filtration unit, please take a look at our "in action" video.

Freddy Micro

Why recycle coolant?

Whether you are using fully synthetic, semi-synthetic or neat oil, contaminated metalworking fluids are detrimental to business.  Reducing the effectiveness, and reducing the life of machine tools can be costly.  The finish of your products can be diminished, not to mention the health and safety implications that can be caused by the contaminated coolant, such as dermatitis.  Then there is the cost of purchasing and disposing of your metalworking fluid.  All of these issues can be solved by a Freddy.  Take a look at some of the details for the Micro below, download our technical information sheet, or get in touch to see how we can help.

The Freddy Micro is the newest addition to the Freddy Coolant Recycling Vacuum family.

As the name suggests, the new Micro is a compact coolant recycling system, designed and manufactured in the UK.  Designed and built to the high standards and specifications that has made the Freddy range a trusted name, the Freddy Micro offers a new solution to your coolant recycling needs.

With a smaller footprint, a smaller 50 litre capacity, and weighing less than any previous Freddy, it offers versatility, better mobility and affordability.

Available with a 2kw motor, and either a 240v or 110v power source, the motor can generate an airflow rate of 3000m3/hr with a water in-flow rate of 238 litres per minute and an out-flow rate of 100 litres per minute.  And as with the rest of the Freddy range, fluid is filtered through filtered through a filterbag, which are available from 1000um down to 5um to ensure the Freddy Micro captures all contaminants from your machine tool.

Complete with a 38mm hose and gulper as standard, with the option to upgrade to a 51mm hose if required, as well as a 24 month warranty, the new Micro is a cost effective entry point for coolant recovery.

Freddy Micro Plus

The Freddy Micro Plus is the newest addition to the Freddy Coolant Recycling Vacuum family.

The Micro Plus continues on from the very successful Micro which was launched in early 2017. It is also a compact coolant recycling system, designed and manufactured in the UK.  Made to the high standards and specifications that has made the Freddy range a trusted name, the Freddy Micro Plus offers a new solution to your coolant recycling needs.

With the same footprint, a 50 litre capacity, and weighing less than any previous Freddy, it offers versatility, better mobility and affordability, but now has the ability to pump out rather than have the gravity drain of the Micro. The ideal solution to smaller businesses.

It means it is now possible to recycle 50 litres of coolant through the machine and back into the sump in just 60 seconds!

Unlike many of our competitors, the Micro Plus does not use fragile submersible pumps which take up valuable space in the tank and make it incredibly difficult to thoroughly clean out. It actually gives the machine the ability to take on heavily contaminated liquids without fear of damaging any parts it comes in contact with. The airflow is switched from vacuum to pressurise in order to force collected liquids out of the holding tank. So powerful the 2kw unit it can easily pump out into barrels, IBC’s, or overhead storage tanks.

Available with a 2kw motor, and either a 240v or 110v power source, the motor can generate an airflow rate of 3000m3/hr with a water in-flow rate of 238 litres per minute and an outflow rate of 100 litres per minute.  And as with the rest of the Freddy range, fluid is filtered through filtered through a filter bag, which are available from 1000um down to 5um to ensure the Freddy Micro captures all contaminants from your machine tool.

Complete with a 38mm hose and gulper as standard, with the option to upgrade to a 51mm hose if required, as well as a 24-month warranty, the new Micro is a cost-effective entry point for coolant recovery.
